ANNOUNCING “A MORE PERFECT UNISON”

Update March 31st

In light of CDC recommendations around the coronavirus pandemic, unfortunately our April 19 concert will not continue as planned. We were looking forward to sharing a wonderful program of music with you, and hope to reschedule this concert at a later date. We will be in touch once the stay-at-home mandates are lifted with additional updates. Stay safe, stay well, and keep enjoying music wherever you can.

- A More Perfect Union Organizing Team

February 19, 2020

Three of Washington’s premier vocal ensembles--The 18th Street Singers, The Capital Hearings, and The Choral Arts Society of Washington--are banding together to present a joint concert honoring our shared histories and DC’s rich, evolving culture of choral music. Each group brings unique musical styles and perspectives to a joyous concert celebrating milestones for each ensemble.

Join us on Sunday, April 19th for "A More Perfect Unison." Held in the beautifully acoustic space of National City Christian Church, the concert promises to be a celebration of our groups, of DC, and of the music we can create together!

Tickets
General admission tickets will be available online or at the door for $20. Free student tickets are also available to those with a valid student ID.

HERE WE GROW: 15 YEARS OF THE 18TH STREET SINGERS

February 2020

Since 2004, the 18th Street Singers have thrived as a part of Washington, DC’s vibrant performing arts community. As an all-volunteer group and registered nonprofit organization, we owe our success to the support of our community.

This season we are celebrating our 15th anniversary. Taking pride in how far we have come, and looking forward to the future, we have set our eyes on some big goals to mark this milestone.

Will you make a donation to support the 18th Street Singers reach these goals in our 15th Anniversary Season?

  • Two newly commissioned pieces of music for our June 2020 concert (including one from a young, up-and-coming composer)

  • The revitalization of our Composition Competition

  • A collaboration with a local DC artist

  • Professional graphic design support

  • Continuing to provide FREE STUDENT TICKETS to every concert, for students of any age

With a tax-deductible donation of any size, you can help us make our 15th anniversary one to remember. Donate now using the Paypal button below or visit our Fundraising page for more information on ways to give!

CELEBRATE #GIVINGTUESDAY 2019

November 2019

Mark your calendar! December 3, 2019 is #GivingTuesday!

The 18th Street Singers will be participating in honor of our 15th Anniversary and have set a goal of $1,500 for Giving Tuesday.

It's been 15 years of us challenging what you think of as "traditional" choral music as we find lesser-known gems and prioritize amplifying the voices, composers, and themes that are often missing at classical music concerts. So for Giving Tuesday 2019, we want to focus on supporting one of the core audiences to that mission: Students.

Every $10 donated to the 18th Street Singers on Giving Tuesday will underwrite one student ticket, which are provided free of charge at all 18th Street Singers concerts. We typically provide about 120 free student tickets each year. Whether your budget allows you to underwrite the cost of 1 ticket or 10, each ticket helps to further our mission of bringing choral music to new audiences (and students of all ages).

Make a tax-deductible donation today using the Paypal button below and visit our Support tab for other easy ways to show your love for The 18th Street Singers!
